THE CASE
OF THE DEADLY DIARY A SERGEANT
MARKIE MYSTERY A
retired NYPD Captain is found murdered gangland style in
the parking lot of a Bronx golf course. Sgt. Al Markie and Detective
Oliver Von Hess are assigned to support the precinct detective who caught the
case. Their investigation leads to the doorstep of Ester Trumbell, a fragile
woman who committed suicide as a result of failed
romantic involvements with men. Esther left behind a diary that revealed the
identity of her past lovers, one being the murdered captain. The bodies start
dropping after the tell all journal is discovered by
Esther's father. Buckle up, reader, as you accompany Markie on a ride that
comes complete with personal heartbreak, scheming mobsters, revenge, and
inevitably, additional slayings. The Case of the Deadly Diary, book seven in
the series, is a Sergeant Markie Mystery that fans are sure to enjoy. Looking into the Soul of Organized Crime. Reviewed

Celano has the unique ability to seamlessly have his characters interact no matter the situation. It is with no hesitation that I
attribute this talent to his law enforcement experience with organized crime.
He has the jargon, the dress, the personalities, and the expectations down
pat. This book, although crammed with clashing scenarios, is a very quick
read. The transfer from one posture to another is remarkably without
confusion. The author gives a down-to-earth look into the thinking, planning
and implementation of organized crime's drastic measures. Martin Celano does it again with Markie! Reviewed

is the seventh in the Sgt. Markie Mystery Series. Each book easily stands
alone and would make a great season in a televised series. The author,
retired NYPD Detective Sergeant Anthony Celano, again keeps the reader
intrigued and at times at the edge of a seat as the story unfolds. The
author's real life experience is obviously ingrained
throughout the story line. The main character's work ethic, investigative
skills and flaws provide a very realistic perspective for the reader. Once
again highly recommended. Looking forward to number 8. E.J. |
